I haven't posted at all like I was planning, but I'm hoping to fix that.
Today's project I'm going to share is from around 2007. The pattern was for a lap quilt and a matching pillow. I had borrowed the pattern from my mom and surprised her and my dad a pillow for Christmas one year. It turned out so well, the next year I made them another one, and bunch more for other friends and family. I also surprised them with the matching quilt. I was so excited to give them the quilt for Christmas, they had no idea it was coming.
I had to laugh, a couple years later, I was at a county fair with my husband and saw someone had made the same quilt, only in blues and reds. It was very pretty - and won second place!
Every time I go home, I love seeing this quilt and remember how fun and easy it was to make. I finished this one off with a black backing and tied it with black embroidery floss. I believe this was my first attempt at binding a quilt as well, using black fabric.
I'll try and post more projects this weekend!
UPDATE: The pattern for the quilt and pillows is available here: http://www.quilterswarehouse.com/p-2923-stash-box-quilt.aspx
